Today I painted a Highland Cow!
I was thinking about the trip my family took to Scotland last year, when we visited Loch Ness, and one of my favourite things on that trip were the cows!
Scotland has beautiful landscapes, and when I got home from that trip I made a little watercolour landscape book, of tiny illustrations... Definitely an idea to play with for future projects!
For this piece, I made sure to pre-wet my watercolour paints before I jumped in. Recently, I've struggled with activating some of the paints, from the Windsor and Newton Cotman range, which has been very frustrating while painting. Hopefully this new strategy will make it easier to get pigment out the pallette!
Thanks for reading!
Hope you're doing okay in lockdown,
