When I get an order from HoneyBee Pigments I always get excited. I love supporting a creator, and small business, and her paints are brilliant and in unusual colours.
A sample I received today was of a gorgeous dark brick red called marmalade. I love brick red, almost as much as I love blue.
After a bit of research, I settled on painting a red lighthouse. Sometimes a piece really comes together, with the elements falling into place! I really love that feeling, where the art piece just flows out onto the page.
I used gouache to fill in the foreground - it's opaque nature works brilliantly with watercolour!
